Voice Of Ages
A singing chorale of adult men and women with outreach to other venues and events, performing poignant songs from previous decades. This group will also perform in the winter and spring shows staged at the Golden Apple.

Scene Study for Adults
Learn the secrets to a strong, fully developed character through the study of scenes and monologues. Discover your intention, the obstacle, taking action, sub-text, physical choices, body language and much more!

The Powder Puffs
A ladies dance performance troupe of mature women who love to dance! A showgirl inspired group of “salt-n-peppa beauties” that perform at various locations and select affairs, and will also be featured in PLATO’s
Christmas & Spring Fling shows.

Instructor Bios

Eric Berkel is glad to be back in Sarasota where he got his start as a dancer. He returned home after ten years with the world famous Siegfried & Roy in Las Vegas. You may have seen him dancing here at The Golden Apple in shows like All Shook Up, Chicago, CATS and Footloose. Other credits include Peter Pan with Cathy Rigby, On the Town with Sally Mayes, Kiss Me Kate with Judy Kaye, and La Cage Au Folles with Lee Roy Reames and Gene Barry. Eric worked for Walt Disney for many years as a Kid of the Kingdom in Orlando and Tokyo, Eric is co owner of Jarrick Productions, Unlimited and is also a licensed massage therapist.

Jared Walker is a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, VA with a BFA in Music and Theatre. His local directing credits include: The Full Monty; Victor, Victoria; The Who’s Tommy; Company; Willy Wonka; Annie Get Your Gun; The Aristocats; School House Rock; Sleeping Beauty. As an equity actor, he has appeared in over 100 musicals and plays. Favorites include: All Shook Up, Run For Your Wife, The Drowsy Chaperone, Chicago, CATS, and Smokey Joe’s Café, to name a few. Jared is co-owner of Jarrick Productions, Unlimited, an entertainment packager and performance troupe, ByKids4Kids. Jared also teaches private piano for beginners.

David Sadkin is a member of PLATO, focusing on adult education and outreach programs. Prior to what is laughingly referred to as “retirement,” he was professor and chair of the Department of English and Theater, and a member of the graduate faculty of the College of Business at Niagara University. With his wife, Loretto, he was also co-proprietor of an international human resources consulting firm. Dr. Sadkin holds B.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Kansas State University, and a Certificate of Professional and Technical Communication from Rice University.

Dr. Louise Stinespring trained with Sanford Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, New York City, where she was a professional actor for nine years. An experienced theatre educator, she received her Ph.D. in theatre from Texas Tech University with a focus on directing and acting, and taught on the university level for 19 years. She holds a certificate from the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York, and trained in acting with Sanford Meisner, William Esper and Fred Kareman.
